Ways to keep rabbits safe

In the scorching summer, ensuring the comfort and safety of rabbits—especially long-haired breeds—has become a top priority for farmers. One effective solution that has gained popularity is the use of water-cooled air conditioning systems in rabbit sheds. This method not only keeps the environment cool but also recycles the cooled water for multiple uses, making it both efficient and cost-effective. The setup was originally a double-row rabbit house with cement tiles as the roof. To improve insulation and ventilation, a layer of straw was placed over the tiles, and an 8-meter-wide plastic film was stretched over the entire structure. Grasshoppers were installed to help manage airflow and temperature. The grasshopper system is designed to be easily opened and closed depending on the weather conditions. During peak heat, the shed is fully enclosed and air-conditioned throughout the day. However, when temperatures drop in the early morning or evening, the plastic films and grasshoppers are opened to allow natural cooling and fresh air circulation. This approach ensures a balanced environment without excessive reliance on mechanical cooling, reducing energy consumption and improving overall air quality. This system effectively addresses several common issues with traditional indoor air conditioners, such as strong odors, high maintenance costs, excessive power usage, and inefficient space utilization. It also avoids the problem of unnecessary energy waste when indoor units are left running unnecessarily. Additionally, the cooled water from the air conditioning system can be reused for various purposes, including household water, drinking water for rabbits, cleaning cages, cooling the ceiling of the shed, and watering green feed. The water-cooled air conditioning system can be customized based on the size of the area. Typically, seven units can efficiently cool between 90 to 120 rabbit houses. With a layout of 1.4 meters per row, two rows per room, and three layers, the design maximizes space and improves the density and utilization rate of the rabbit housing. Water sources can be sourced from self-drilled wells, and the system can even be adapted for use in winter as a greenhouse for growing plants. (Mongolian Xinhua Rabbit Farm welcomes visitors)
