F1 generation marigold rapid propagation technology

F1 generation marigold, commonly known as big flower marigold, is a professional seed company through hybridization. It has many good traits, and is deeply loved by the majority of flower industry. It is one of the most popular flower varieties of flower beds. However, due to its extremely low seed-setting rate, the high price of imported seeds, coupled with the lagging planting techniques and equipment of some flower manufacturers, the production cost is too high, which restricts its widespread application.
Since I introduced it in 1997, I have adopted vegetative propagation methods one by one every year to expand the propagation coefficient, up to 1:60. The specific method is as follows:
1. Time:
Every year from May to August can be carried out.
2. Establish a spray system:
Choose a place that is high in terrain, conducive to ventilation and drainage, and has a certain pressure on the water source. In a large galvanized iron pipe (600 cm3 cm), punch holes at a distance of 3 meters, install a miniature rotary sprinkler with a radius of 2 meters, and use iron wire to lift and fix the iron pipe. The installation length depends on the amount of insertion.
3. Cuttings:
Select plants that grow vigorously and have no pests as their mother plants. The cuttings should have at least two knots. Cut about 1 cm below the near section, and keep the cuts flush to remove the lowermost pair of leaves. It is then treated with rooting powder.
4. Cutting method:
Insert the treated cuttings into the seedling tray containing vermiculite or perlite, and insert them to a depth of 3 to 4 cm. The density should not be too large. The leaves should be connected properly. Place the pan with the panicles on the inverted seedling tray. So that the bottom is ventilated and drains quickly, then neatly placed in the spray range.
5. Post-insert management:
The spray system can be controlled manually or automatically, keeping the cutting blades moist every day. After the emergence of young roots, the leaves must be wetted between the stems. After five days, they can be transplanted. The rooting rate can reach over 96%. .
In this process, two issues should be noted. First, the substrate used for cuttings should be disinfected before each use. Second, excessive wilting of cuttings should be prevented, resulting in the occurrence of rot disease.
Since asexual reproduction is adopted, its various traits will not be mutated, and it can continue to maintain its characteristics of large flowers, high uniformity, and long flowering period.
