The "Thermostatic Bed" Theory

The standard thickness of the Jinbao pig fermentation bed is 50 cm, with the core fermentation layer located 20-30 cm below the surface. This layer can reach temperatures between 30°C and 50°C. The heat is transmitted through the unsterilized or lightly treated litter material. By the time it reaches the surface, the maximum temperature remains around 20°C. On the other hand, the surface itself does not generate heat because it lacks the conditions for active fermentation. Whether in winter or summer, the heat comes from the core fermentation layer.

Moreover, the surface of the fermentation bed constantly exchanges heat with the outside environment. When the internal temperature of the bed is close to or higher than the ambient temperature, air convection occurs—hot air rises, and cooler air flows in from the sides. This natural ventilation is further enhanced by mechanical systems in pig houses, promoting airflow and preventing excessive humidity. As a result, during summer, the bed feels cool and there's no need to worry about overheating. In winter, it helps retain warmth, significantly reducing energy costs.

This unique thermal regulation makes the fermentation bed an innovative and sustainable solution for livestock farming. It not only improves animal comfort but also reduces reliance on artificial heating and cooling systems, making it a smart choice for modern farmers who are looking for both efficiency and environmental responsibility.
