Allergic reactions should be noted when vaccinating pigs

During the course of the injection of vaccines such as swine fever, we experienced multiple allergic reactions in pigs. There have been 111 reported cases since 2001, including 75 cases of W seedlings and 21 cases of swine seedlings. There were 10 cases of swine pneumoconiosis and swine erysipelas triple reaction, 3 cases of swine erysipelas and 2 cases of Pasteurella multocida seedlings, 16 cases of dead pigs in total, including 9 deaths due to swine seedlings and 6 deaths due to W seedlings. Porcine pseudorabies oil emulsion inactivated vaccine died in 1 patient. It is more common to have allergic reactions with W seedlings and swine fever seedlings.

About 1 minute after the vaccine was administered, the pigs developed respiratory shortness, rapid heartbeat, excitement, and symptoms such as runny nose and tearing, indicating an allergic reaction. If the rescue is not timely, death can occur within 2 to 5 minutes.

In the case of vaccinating pigs, first-aid medicines must be prepared in advance. We use hydrochloric acid epinephrine injection produced by Tianjin Jinyao Amino Acid Co., Ltd. and its specification is 1 mg/ml. When pigs develop an allergic reaction, they can be quickly rescued by intramuscular injection of epinephrine hydrochloride. Injected doses of boars, sows and 3 kg of finishing pigs of 30 kg or more, 2 ml of finishing pigs up to 30 kg and nursery pigs, and 1 ml of suckling pigs. Due to the rapid effectiveness of the drug, the rescue can be successful.
