The use of silt in fish ponds

After a period of time, fish ponds often deposit some residual food, fertilizers, dead organisms, fish manure and other organic matter, and the mixing of sediments causes the bottom of the pond to gradually form a certain thickness of silt. When the sludge thickness exceeds 20 cm, it will have a very adverse effect on pond fish. This is because the sludge contains a large amount of organic matter, which will decompose when the temperature is high. On the one hand, it will consume a large amount of dissolved oxygen in the water during the decomposition process, which will cause severe oxygen depletion in the fish pond and cause dead fish in the pond; on the other hand, There are a large number of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, methane, organic acids, etc. that are harmful to fish, affect the growth of fish, and even cause the death of fish poisoning. If the pond can be dried once a year in autumn and winter, excessive silt will be dug up, and after a period of exposure and freezing, the organic matter will be decomposed and the toxic components will be eliminated. It will be thrown into the pond as fertilizer, or the mud will be dug up and mixed with quick lime. Sprinkle into the pond, this can not only kill harmful bacteria, but also neutralize organic acids, release nutrients, make the water become fat and increase calcium in water. For ponds that cannot be dredged, choose sunny and windy weather. Stir the bottom of the pool, preferably once every half a month, to promote the decomposition of organic matter at the bottom of the pool, release nutrients, and prevent water quality from aging.
