Preparing for the winter before wintering is the key to improving the survival rate of Brazilian badgers in winter - the ring. To this end, the following tasks should be carefully done.
(I) Water temperature regulation During the overwintering season, Brazilian catfish species, adult fish and broodstock are required to maintain the water temperature at 18-25°C, in order to maintain their more vigorous food intake, enhance physical fitness, and increase the survival rate of overwintering. For broodstock breeding, a higher wintering water temperature can promote gonad development.
(II) Disinfection in wintering ponds Before the fish species enter the pond, the wintering pond must be first cleared and the wintering water must be disinfected. For example, for earthen ponds, weeds and silts must be thoroughly cleaned; for cement ponds, potassium permanganate should be used after being dissolved in water to spray the entire pond, and lime or bleaching powders can be used for thorough disinfection. The pool water used for winter must be refreshed. Not only can the pond water and river water be used, but also tap water can be used. However, if tap water is used, it should be noted that the determination of chlorine content should not be too high. The tap water can be injected into the pool for 1-2 days until the chlorine gas is volatilized.
(C) Overwintering appliance preparation During the wintering period, the stoves, boilers, resistance heaters, water pumps, small aerators, and generators used should be thoroughly inspected and installed before wintering. At the same time, prepare water temperature gauges, temperature gauges, sea fishing rods, rubber hoses, and common drugs for fish, such as potassium permanganate, methylene blue, etc.
(d) Overwintering objects are overwintering objects, which are generally divided into three species: fish species, reserve broodstock, and broodstock. The selected fish species and broodstock require individuals with uncluttered and disease-free specifications and robust physique.
(v) Fish disinfected fingerlings and broodstock are at the peak of their disease and death within one week after entering the pool. Therefore, fish must be disinfected with drugs before entering the pool. Commonly used disinfection drugs include methylene blue and salt.
