Strawberry powdery mildew prevention and cure method

The disease primarily affects leaves, fruits, and fruit stems. In the early stages, a thin, creamy white powder appears on the leaf surface. Under favorable conditions, the infection spreads rapidly throughout the plant. As the disease progresses, the leaves curl upward and take on a spoon-like shape. When flower buds and flowers are infected, the petals turn red, and the buds fail to open properly. If the fruit becomes infected, a white powdery layer forms on its surface, causing the fruit to stop growing and develop poor coloration. To manage the disease effectively, it is recommended to use disease-resistant varieties such as Baozao Zaosheng. During winter, clear the garden thoroughly by burning diseased leaves and stubble. Throughout the growing season, remove old, diseased leaves, and infected fruits from the ground immediately, and bury them deeply instead of discarding them. Ensure good air circulation in the orchard and drain excess water after rain. Apply organic manure along with balanced amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, avoiding excessive nitrogen application. For chemical control, use appropriate fungicides at the right time. Options include myclobutanil diluted at 800–1000 times, DuPont Fuxing at 800–1000 times, thiophanate-methyl at 1000 times, triadimefon at 2000 times, and "Shigao" at 600–800 times. It's important to apply these treatments early in the disease’s development, repeating every 7–10 days as needed. For best results, spray the solution thoroughly, making sure to cover both the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves. Rotate between different fungicides to prevent resistance. Also, observe the safety interval—stop using pesticides 7 days before harvest to ensure safe levels of pesticide residues and maintain product quality.
