Improve the emergence of fine flower seeds

This problem is often encountered in flower cultivation: sowing some relatively small seeds, few emergence, or even a seedling. How can we make it better? First, understand the characteristics of the seeds. Of course, it also includes the required temperature, humidity, light, soil, etc. This is critical. For example: German Priming can not be soaked, the flower easily lose its vitality after soaking. The seeds of ranunculus are like low temperature, and the temperature of raising seedlings should be about 8°C. It will be difficult to grow seedlings above 12°C. Petunia, gloxinia, and other seeds must be around 25°C. If soaked for 1-2 days after soaking at low temperature, the seeds may be rotted and the seedlings will not grow. There are also some seeds that are bright and some that are too light. Only good seedlings can be bred under appropriate environmental conditions. Second, use seeding equipment. Choose a hard plastic nursery box that is 50-60 cm long, 30-40 cm wide, 8-10 cm high and has many small holes at the bottom. It can also be made by planks, depending on the amount of seed, but not too high. When it is too high, if there is more soil, it will be difficult to dry for a long time. If there is less soil, the four walls above the container will affect the light. The bottom of the wooden box should be drained, and must be soaked in water for 2-3 days before use. Third, prepare the matrix. The fermented and sifted manure, humus, fine sand and garden soil were sieved at a ratio of 2:1:1:1, sieved with high glutinous rice, and sun-sterilized for one day. Fourth, packing. A layer of 1-2 cm soy bean sized cinder is placed on the bottom of the tank. The prepared substrate is then laid on it and leveled, 4-5 cm thick. Then use a sieve screen sieve a small layer of substrate, about 1 mm can be filled with soil particles, so as not to trap the fine seeds into the soil, can not break out of the soil. However, not many fine soil, or easy to grow moss. Fifth, sowing. Put the seeds and fine sand in a ratio of 1:1000-2000, mix well in a pot and spread evenly on the substrate. Immediately use light and clean wood to lightly press on the soil, do not compact it, so that the seed can be combined with soil. Finally, the wooden box is placed in water and soaked in water. The water level cannot exceed the surface of the soil. The water is added with the soaking until soaking. Take the soaked water tank out of the water, and moisten the cover glass (do not use plastic film, because it is easily dripping water to hurt the seedlings), control the water slightly, and immediately move to the environment suitable for seed germination. Depending on the variety, germination takes place 4-5 days faster, whereas it takes 7-10 days to germinate. After the seeds germinate, remove the glass and wait until most of the seedlings have emerged and then move to a suitable place for growth. It is worth noting that when two true leaves are not grown, they must not be watered or sprayed from above. Others follow normal seedling management. China Agricultural Network Editor
