Chun Chun walnut seed technology

Seed selection: The seeds that are fully mature in the excellent varieties are used, so that the germination rate is high. That is, when the walnuts are harvested, most of the total pods (green peels) are cracked and detached by themselves, or those that have exceeded the maturation phase for about half a month are not cleaved and shed.

Treatment of seeds: In early March, the seed to be prepared will be treated with sand. The method is: choose a place with sunny wind, use clean sand or local sandy loam, and use brick walls on both sides of the front window of the house. Seed Soak it in cold water for 1-2 days, suck enough water, then pour a layer of sandy soil on the bottom layer and put a layer of seeds on it; then lay a layer of sandy soil, put a layer of seeds...about 4-5 layers of seeds, the top Cover a layer of sandy loam soil, then sprinkle with water. Cover the top with straw or corn stover. Sprinkle once every two days to maintain the moisture content of the sand seeds for about one month.

In early April, when the seeds sprouted, they were planted and sown.

Seeding method: For the convenience of management, the nursery will be site-cleaned. 6 meters long, 4 meters wide, 12-15 cm spacing, spacing 30-40 cm. The budding seed and seed sutures are placed perpendicular to the ground and are 10-12 cm deep. The earth-covered thickness is 6-8 cm. After the soil is covered, there is no need to stamp on the seeds.

Using this breeding method, the seedlings of the broadcasted walnuts are fully emerged and seedlings are robust.
