Tests in vitro showed that the resistance to salt of transformed tetraploid Robinia pseudoacacia plants increased by 2‰ to 3‰ compared to the control (untransformed) plants. The transformed tetraploid Robinia pseudoacacia grew normally in the soil containing 5‰ to 6‰ salinity, and the plants grew in the 8‰~10‰ salinity soil. China has a large area of ​​inland and coastal saline-alkaline lands. Due to the lack of salt-tolerant and high-value plant materials, especially the scarcity of tree species, these ecologically fragile areas are severely constrained to carry out ecological construction. Therefore, improving salt tolerance and drought resistance of tree species has been an important issue in the field of forest tree breeding research.
