China has successfully cultivated and utilized 300 species of wild animals and plants

Is the protection and utilization of wild animals and plants a contradiction between irreversibility? The practice of the State Forestry Administration in the past two years gave a negative answer: In 2005, the total production value of China’s wild animals and plants was 157 billion yuan, and the total value of fixed assets reached 35.1 billion yuan, which was a year-on-year increase from 2003. At the same time, 176% and 58.8% of the population; at the same time, a large number of rare, endangered species of wild animals and plants, and the shrinking of habitats began to reverse. In particular, species such as Tibetan antelopes, apes, yew, orchids, etc., have been excessively consumed. , showing a steady increase in the gratifying situation.
For a long time, the wild animal and plant utilization industry in China has mainly depended on wild resources, resulting in excessive consumption of resources and has been strongly criticized by protectionists at home and abroad. To this end, the State Forestry Administration proposed in early 2004 that a strategic shift from the use of field resources to the use of artificially cultivated resources should be implemented to nurture and promote conservation, use industry feedback, and strive for protection and development.
After two short years of development, a virtuous cycle has been achieved in the protection and utilization of wildlife. The cultivation of wild animal and plant resources has grown steadily. The output efficiency has increased from 11.1 billion yuan in 2003 to 13.53 billion yuan in 2005, an increase of 21.9%. At the same time, about 300 species of wild animals and plants have been matured. Nearly 200 of these species can be artificially cultivated to meet the needs of related industries and no longer depend on field resources.
