Common misunderstandings in the use of steam traps
In steam systems, hydrophobic equipment acts as a hydrophobic, vapor-blocking, and exhausting air. Hydrophobic conditions are related to steam consumption, system efficiency, and equipment life, as well as the quality of the product being produced. Hangzhou Watt Energy Saving After many years of on-site investigation, steam users have many misunderstandings about hydrophobic problems.
One-sided understanding of hydrophobic temperature Most steam users mistakenly believe that the lower the hydrophobic temperature of the device, the better, because it is more energy efficient. However, too low a hydrophobic temperature means that water is accumulated inside the apparatus, resulting in a decrease in the heating efficiency of the heat exchanger. This makes the heating efficiency of the equipment low, which in turn affects production efficiency. Too low heat exchanger wall temperatures and temperature gradients are completely unacceptable for certain processes, such as product heating, sterilization, etc. in pharmaceutical processes.
The thermal efficiency caused by the supercooled discharge temperature of the trap is low. In order to meet the process requirements, it is necessary to increase the opening degree of the steam supply valve, increase the steam pressure, and even open the trap bypass, which eventually leads to an increase in steam consumption. In addition, the accumulated water will cause temperature difference between the upper and lower sides of the heat exchange equipment, affecting the product quality and equipment life, and easily causing water hammer.
For the misinterpretation of flash steam, most steam users mistake the flash steam for leaking steam, so when they see the "white steam" at the outlet of the trap, they mistakenly think it is leaking. In fact, those "white steam" are flash steam. When the high temperature and high pressure condensed water is discharged to the low pressure zone, the total heat enthalpy remains unchanged and the sensible heat decreases. The heat released when the sensible heat is reduced will partially vaporize and generate steam, which is the flash steam.
Watt Energy believes that the flash of condensate is a normal phenomenon. The flash steam has a low flow rate and is “white†and can be seen at the outlet of the pipe; while the raw steam is colorless, these colorless gases become visible after a distance from the outlet pipe when the hydrophobic device leaks. And the speed of the outside is higher.
Unconscious of the series hydrophobic problem Some customers have two traps connected in series at the outlet of the device in order to prevent the trap from leaking steam. The problem is: 1) the condensate flashes at the outlet of the first trap due to the pressure drop, causing the latter to lock up and cause the equipment to accumulate water; 2) when the two traps are connected in series, before and after each trap The pressure difference is reduced, and the original small-diameter steam trap can meet the requirements, but two large diameters are required in series, which causes more waste.
Do not understand the group hydrophobic problem. A different trap for a single device or a different heating section of a device is called a group hydrophobic. This phenomenon is very common and can be seen by almost every customer. Hydrophobic grouping can cause water to accumulate inside some heating sections of some equipment or one equipment, affecting heating efficiency and production process, and even causing equipment damage. On-site operators often use the direct export method of equipment to “solve problemsâ€, but the cost is a waste of steam.
The importance of steam system hydrophobicity is seriously underestimated. In fact, it is very important for the company's safe production, quality improvement, energy conservation and emission reduction. Eliminating hydrophobic misunderstandings is the first step in correct and effective hydrophobicity. Hangzhou Watt Energy Saving Engineering Co., Ltd. continuously provides steam users with training and sharing of various steam technology knowledge. We firmly believe that knowledge sharing can make Watt high quality steam traps truly energy efficient at the customer site.
Ventilation is one of the most important components in a successful greenhouse.
If there is no proper ventilation, greenhouses and their growing plants can become prone to problems. The main purposes of ventilation are to regulate the temperature and humidity to the optimal level, and to ensure movement of air and thus prevent build-up of plant pathogens (such as Botrytis cinerea) that prefer still air conditions. Ventilation also ensures a supply of fresh air for photosynthesis and plant respiration, and may enable important pollinators to access the greenhouse crop.
