How to extend the service life of reverse osmosis equipment

Ensuring consistent water quality is a fundamental prerequisite for ensuring production safety in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. In the process of mixing pure water, the core position is the reverse osmosis equipment. In addition to the overall cost, user zui is concerned with how to extend the life of the device and how to have reliable quality inspection technology.

At present, Zui is concerned about the whole set of solutions. This includes not only individual measuring instruments, such as independent solenoid valves, reliable ammeters, precision sensors and pH meters, but also a complete and efficient control system.

Strict monitoring During the production process, the following four parameters must be measured and monitored:

Redox

Radiation-based chemicals attack very thin polyamide membranes, which can lead to irreparable loopholes. The precipitated salt can seep out from the membrane pores. Such a film must be replaced, but this requires a high cost. In this case, a redox meter with a built-in alarm is usually installed at the entrance to the reverse osmosis process, and when the measured value exceeds the normal value, the operator is immediately alerted.

The Bürkert multi-function control system mxControl8620 automatically controls the program variables of the water treatment system.

2.pH value

The ideal pH of the reverse osmosis membrane is weakly acidic, ranging from 5 to 6.5. This pH range prevents the formation of carbonates and the hydrolysis of some cellulose acetate membranes. A dedicated pH transmitter and mediator measures and adjusts the pH and temperature of the water at the inlet. Other integrated appliances deliver and adjust pH within an operational range. Any change in indicator value activates a digital dosing pump that regulates the acidity of the inlet water. To prevent the formation of calcium carbonate crystal precipitates in the reverse osmosis membrane.

3. Conductivity

The system parameters that are important for zui in the reverse osmosis instrument and that need to be frequently monitored are conductivity. The conductivity of the water supply is a key factor in yield and membrane flux density. The higher the conductivity, the higher the osmotic pressure, and the lower the working efficiency of the membrane, even if the temperature and pressure are in agreement with normal values. A purely resistive conductive transmitter measures not only the conductivity of the injected water, but also the conductivity of the penetration. The difference is the standard for the remaining minerals and salt content and the efficiency criteria for the entire reverse osmosis process.

4. Temperature

The temperature is proportional to the flux density of the membrane at the same conductivity and pressure. In general, a temperature change of 1 ° C can increase or decrease the efficiency of reverse osmosis by 1.5%. The reference data for membrane product manufacturers is 25 ° C, and comprehensive temperature control is not feasible. Zui's new generation of pH and redox possibility measuring instruments and conductive transmitters are prepared for additional temperature measurements and can measure two parameters simultaneously.
