Institute of Refrigeration and Cryogenics of Zhejiang University, formerly known as the Low Temperature Laboratory of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1958. It is one of the refrigeration equipment and cryogenic technology pioneers established by Zui in China's colleges and universities. It has two (cooling and cryogenic engineering, Master's degree, doctoral degree and postdoctoral mobile station for heating, gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning engineering. The refrigeration and cryogenic engineering disciplines affiliated with the institute are key disciplines in Zhejiang Province. After decades of hard work, the institute has become a well-known unit at home and abroad. Especially in the field of 4K GM refrigerator, multi-stage pulse tube refrigeration, mixed refrigerant refrigeration, heat pump technology, absorption refrigeration and other research results have been in the international advanced or domestic linger position. The Institute attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries. In 1989 and 1998, it successfully held two "International Conference on Cryogenics and Refrigeration (ICCR'89 and ICCR'98)", the third session hosted by us. The International Conference on Refrigeration and Cryogenics will also be held at Zhejiang University from October 28th to November 1st, 2003. The Institute has established long-term cooperative relationships with relevant institutions of universities in Japan, Germany, France and other countries. Qiu Limin, a doctoral student of our institute, has won the "Karl Linde" Award from the Outstanding Youth of the International Refrigeration Society and the "100 Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Awards in the Year 2000". Professor Chen Guobang was elected as the vice chairman of the Low Temperature Committee of the International Refrigeration Society and a member of the International Low Temperature Refrigeration Committee at the 20th International Refrigeration Conference, representing China in the international academic community.
There are 6 professors, 4 doctoral supervisors, 22 doctoral students, 60 master students, and 45 undergraduate students each year.
The institute has achieved more than 50 high-level scientific research results, including 8 awards from the National Science Conference, the National Ministry of Education Invention Award, and the Science and Technology Progress Award. He has published more than 30 high-level books and won more than 50 patents.
